(CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va.) -- Chesterfield Police have made an arrest in Tuesday's homicide along Providence Creek Road, not far from Courthouse Road and the Powhite Parkway.
Officers have arrested 18 year old Bernard Smith, who lives on Providence Creek Road, not far from where 79 year old Franklin Farrens was found dead in his car.
Police say Farrens was a Lyft driver. He was found in the car around 6:30 Tuesday morning.
Smith has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm. He's being held at the county jail. Officers are not yet sure about a motive.
