
Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam has announced some home health care workers will be receiving $1500 (pre-tax) as a recognition for the work they did in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. The money is possible through federal coronavirus funidng.
There are expected to be somewhere around 43,500 employees eligible. These are personal care workers and attendants that aided Medicaid members from mid-March through the end of June. Northam says it is a recognition of the risks they took during the early days of Covid.
A raise was also included in the budget that took effect on July 1st.
