
Sandston, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Police say they have a person of interest in an alleged racist incident that allegedly occurred at the White Oak Village Publix on Friday. Police say an employee of the store says he was nearly hit by a car in the store parking lot. The near miss occurred just after an alleged incident inside the store in which a customer refused to allow the employee, a young Black teen, to bag their groceries.
Police say they are aware of what is alleged to have occurred inside the store, and have reviewed store video. The intiial investigation has been forwarded to the Commonwealth's Attorney.
There was a rally for the employee at the store over the weekend.
