Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Department of General Services has now placed signs at the Robert E. Lee Monument, just as the Monument reopened from its first overnight closure since the protests began.  The Commonwealth announced Monday that the Monument would be off-limits after dark, for safety reasons.  It has become a camp for protestors since the protests began.

Included among the regulations is a capacity of 500 people at the monument, and a requirement that any event bringing in more than 10 people have a permit.  Banners also cannot be tied to the monument, and drones are banned.

Governor Ralph Northam has pledged to remove the Lee Monument but is blocked by a Circuit Court injunction.
