Six Arrested for Unlawful Assembly in Richmond

(RICHMOND, Va.) -- Six people have been arrested for Unlawful Assembly during a protest at the J.E.B. Stuart monument Sunday night. 

Police declared an unlawful assembly as proresters threw objects at officers and tied a rope to the statue in an apparent attempt to pull it down. An action that would have put many people at risk of being hit.

Those charged are:

  • 23 year old Paul Behrends of Richmond, photo not available
  • 23 year old William Keller of Richmond
  • 20 year old Robert Wood of Henrico, photo not available
  • 25 year old Thomas Feeney of Richmond
  • 30 year old Summer Orcutt of Richmond 
  • 21 year old Anna Posner of Lorton, Va.

Posner was re-arrested after she returned to the statue. She was charged with another, related offense.

One Richmond police officer was injured when he was struck in the arm by a thrown brick. He was treated at the scene.
