Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond and New Kent County have both raised concerns about increased Covid cases. Dr. Danny Avula held a briefing Thursday, in which he said Richmond's lower trend had reversed, and blamed it on both a senior center outbreak, and on a large wedding.
Avula did not provide details on either, and did not say weddings could not be held. But he adds that events like that should be held outside, and with masks, to limit coronavirus spread.
New Kent brought up their concerns to residents in a Facebook post.
The county says large gatherings, sporting events, and events where social distancing and mask rules are not being followed appear to be to blame. They are asking residents to take personal responsibility to limit spread.
Neither locality has brought students into the classroom at this point.
