Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia High School League says it will need to make decisions on how and whether to play its state championship basketball games by Wednesday evening.  The games are scheduled for Siegel Center starting Thursday at noon.  The VHSL has already asked teams still participating not do pre- or post-game handshakes to avoid spreading disease.

Executive Director Billy Haun says they may even make a decision on Thursday if the situation warrants it, but they realize teams will likely have already traveled long distances at that point.  Howeverm Haun stresses safety will be their top priority, regardless of travel issues.

There are several Richmond area high schools still participating in their state playoffs, including Monacan High's girls team, James River High's girl's team, Highland Springs' girls team, and John Marshall High's boys team.

The VHSL is recommending any fans that attend to follow good health practices, and if you are sick, and/or worried about the risk, you can stream the games here.  There is a cost.

Tuesday's semifinal games are going on as scheduled.
