Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - High winds following Thursday's heavy rain has created numerous issues around Richmond. The Varina-Enon and Benjamin Harrison bridges had to close out of fear trucks would topple over. Three homes in the area had trees fall on them: one in western Henrico, and two off Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield. There were no injuries.
Power outages lead Hanover Schools to close early. Henrico County closed John Rolfe Middle and Varina High School early because both schools did not have power.
Several roads also are water-covered in VDOT's Richmond district. VDOT asks people not to drive through flooded roadways or road closures.
