Actor Bradley Whitford has gone against the grain in Hollywood and called out the National Basketball Association (NBA) for continuing its business relationship with China while remaining silent on the Communist regime's attempts to stifle those protesting for democracy in Hong Kong and its internment of Uighur Muslims in concentration camps in Xinjiang.
While the NBA has voiced its staunch support for the Black Lives Matter movement, it has refused to condemn the actions of the Chinese government and its innumerable human rights violations.
And while the league's hypocrisy has been highlighted primarily by conservatives, Whitford, a notorious Democrat, has joined others in calling out the NBA.
"Hey @NBA. Do you care about what’s happening in Hong Kong?" Whitford wrote in a Monday tweet. "Or the fact that the Chinese are building concentration camps for the Uighurs? Or do you only take principled stands if they won’t hurt your bottom line?"
