Two Virginia Capitol Police Officers Injured By Protesters

Two Virginia Capitol Police officers are in the hospital after they were struck by objects thrown at them during violent protests in the city over the weekend, according to WTVR-TV.

Officials say the incident occurred when protesters gathered near the main gate at Capitol Square. One officer was struck with a baseball bat and the other was hit with a beer bottle.

Both were treated for leg injuries at VCU Medical Center.
