A massive protest planned by Chesterfield teachers for last Friday was put on hold when the school board elected to cancel classes beginning that day.
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, teachers had been planning to all request a sick day on Friday in protest of comments made by county administrator about teacher pay, but Superintendent Merv Daugherty's decision to cancel school for the foreseeable future over coronavirus concerns interrupted the walk out.
