China has reopened its infamous wet markets - where the coronavirus is believed to have originated - with the blessing of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Of course, Chinese state media outlets were quick to laud the reopening of the now allegedly sanitized wet markets across the country, including Wuhan, where the pandemic began. And according to China's Global Times, some of the markets never even closed during the crisis.

WHO supported the markets being reopened, although it offered a half-hearted warning about shopping in the "dangerous" markets and never once singled out China.

WHO’s Coronavirus Special Envoy Dr. David Nabarro claimed, "You know how WHO and other parts of the international system work – we don’t have the capacity to police the world. Instead, what we have to do is offer advice and guidance, and there’s very clear advice from the Food and Agriculture Organisation and WHO that said there are real dangers in these kinds of environments."
