The Virginia House of Delegates passed a bill on Tuesday that would allow those on food stamps to use them at certain restaurants, NBC12 reports.
House Bill 1410, which passed the House by a vote of 54-41, requires the Social Services Department to take part in the Restaurant Meals Program by Jan. 1, 2021.
Del. Ibraheem Samirah (D-Fairfax) was one of the five patrons introducing the bill and claims this legislation is in the best interest of Virginia.
