Former Democratic Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh was sentenced Thursday to three years in federal prison for her role in a children's book deal scandal.
Pugh pleaded guilty in November to federal conspiracy and tax evasion charges in a deal struck with prosecutors, who had initially recommended a five-year sentence. Pugh will also serve three years of supervised release following her release and has been fined in excess of $411,000.
