The attempt at so-called "bail reform" in New York has worked out well thus far...for criminals.
In the most recent case of bail reform gone horribly wrong, a convict who was arrested for his connection to four robberies in Manhattan was released under the new bail laws and proceeded to rob a fifth bank, this one in Brooklyn.
Now, New York City police are once again searching for a man, Gerod Woodberry, whom they had already put behind bars. According to the New York Post, Woodberry allegedly robbed banks by using a note, not a gun, so under the new bail laws, no New York jail can hold him.
