Rumor has it that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito may be retiring soon.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt told Washington Post reporter Robert Costa on his show Wednesday that the "stronger rumor" is that Alito is going to quit.

Hewitt made these remarks in response to Costa's report which stated that President Trump aides believe conservative Justice Clarence Thomas is more likely to retire this year.

The 72-year-old Thomas was appointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1991 to succeed Thurgood Marshall. The 70-year-old Alito, also a conservative, was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2005 to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
