After Iran shot down a passenger jet carrying 176 people - more than 60 of them Canadian citizens - the Associated Press published a story with the headline, "An Iranian general dies in a U.S. attack, and Canada suffers," leaving little doubt as to who they blamed for the attack.
The story proceeded to not-so-subtly bash President Trump, chiding him for tweeting "all is well" after the Iranian missile attack on U.S. forces because there were no American casualties. As if the president should be omniscient, the AP claimed, "27 seconds before Trump’s tweet, commercial flight trackers lost contact with a Ukrainian International Airlines jet that had just taken off from Tehran’s main airport."
27 seconds. Yep, definitely his fault.
The AP his since altered the headline to read, "As Iran and US take step back from the brink, Canada grieves."
