During a Wednesday appearance on Fox News, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats for the low bar they have now set for impeachment.
Kennedy said that future presidents will be subjected to impeachment for political reasons, completely unlike what the Founding Fathers intended.
The Louisiana senator also added that many Democrats, including Pelosi, think the American people are stupid and unable to see past their messages on impeachment.
Kennedy said, "You know, they - many of the folks in Washington, including the speaker, I think, they think the American people are morons - that they can’t see through all of this."
