It seems former Vice President Joe Biden used his position in the White House to help his son-in-law's health care company, giving investor briefings and even allowing them to use the Oval Office.
According to Schweizer, Biden arranged a private meeting for two executives from StartUp Health with then-President Barack Obama in the Oval Office in June 2011. At that time, the company was still very much in the infant stages, without even a business plan. Schweizer adds that the meeting was odd because StartUp Health was not proposing any significant ideas or pitching anything new.
What made this particular meeting different, though, was the fact that StartUp's chief medical officer, Howard Krein, was engaged to Biden's daughter, Ashley.
