Accurate And Honest Language? Yeah, That's Racist Too

In the aftermath of George Floyd's death, Democrats are on a mission to label everything you do and say as "racist."

During an interview with The Cut, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) says the term "rioting" should not be used to describe the violent protests because it is "negative language used far too often in a description of black people by folks who fundamentally don’t see black people the same way they see whites and others."

In the interview, published on Wednesday, Waters described her fight against "the language of insurrection and unrest versus rioting" and said that the events of the last week made her recall when "I was confronting (former Los Angeles police chief) Daryl Gates, starting when the police shot Eula Love," which she says made her look closer at the relations between police and the African-American community.

She went on to discuss how her experience with Gates has affected her views of what she calls "negative language" that is used today.

"A lot of negative language gets used against black people, describing what whites often believe is true about us: that language includes 'lazy,' 'criminal,' and 'rioting,'" Waters told The Cut.

"It's all negative language used far too often in a description of black people by folks who fundamentally don’t see black people the same way they see whites and others," she continued.
