First lady Melania Trump fired back at Food Network host John Henson for his distasteful Father's Day tweet that targeted the president's youngest son, Barron Trump.
"Sadly we continue to see inappropriate and insensitive comments about the President's son. As with every other administration, a minor child should be off-limits and allowed to grow up with no judgment or hate from strangers and the media."
The statement was in response to Henson's Father's Day tweet, which attempted to attack President Trump and his family.
"I hope Barron gets to spend today with whoever his dad is," Henson wrote.
Henson received blowback from his tweet, which many users said crossed a line in bringing the president's 14-year-old son into his attack. But the "Halloween Baking Championship" host claimed that his joke was fine because he was going after President Trump and simply saying Barron's name "doesn’t mean it’s at his expense."
