The Virginia Parole Board announced on Monday that Vincent Lamont Martin's parole has been delayed for the second time in the last month. The state inspector general's office says it will be conducting an investigation into how the parole board handled the case of the man who shot and killed RPD officer Michael Connors.
Now, one of the members of the Connors' family is speaking publicly on this case for the first time.
Patrick Connors, Michael Connors' father, told CBS6 Crime Insider Jon Burkett in a Monday interview, "It's another day that a**hole can stay in jail."
The 86-year-old Patrick Connors has never done an interview about his son's murder before, but says it's time for his voice to be heard.
"The guy killed my son, and he didn't have to stand over him and shoot him in the head," Connors said. "You had him down. What the hell more did you want. I don't understand why."
Speaking on Martin's possible parole, he said, "Here's a kid that never worked a day in his life. What the hell is he gonna’ do when he gets out? What talent does this guy have besides being able to use a gun?"
