Media Goes All In With Government Trampling Constitutional Rights

NBC Jewish funeral in NYC

The longer the coronavirus lockdowns last, the more it seems rights are being stripped away from American citizens. And the mainstream media doesn't seem worried about that.

Wednesday on "NBC Nightly News," anchor Lester Holt and reporter Gabe Gutierrez attacked a gathering of Orthodox Jews at a funeral in New York City earlier this week, claiming state and local governments have the "moral authority" to police gatherings during this time.

Gutierrez began his report by stating, "In the age of social distancing, it was a shocking sight. Thousands of mourners in Brooklyn at a rabbi's funeral. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says he’s instructing the NYPD to cite or arrest anyone who disobeys a social distancing order."

He also noted that New York has raised the maximum fine for not observing social distancing to $1,000 and that certain towns in Massachusetts are doing the same with masks. It was then that he asked, "What authority do these cities have to really enforce social distancing?"

That question was answered by former Obama CDC Director Tom Frieden, who said, "The most important authority any community has is moral authority, understanding that by distancing not only are you protecting yourself but others, also."
