Video has emerged of Orthodox Jews using bolt cutters to cut through gates that had been welded shut by New York City officials in order to prevent children in Jewish neighborhoods from playing due to coronavirus fears.
Despite his efforts to keep suppress religious groups - especially Jews - over coronavirus, de Blasio has voiced his support for large Black Lives Matter and transgender protests that have occured in New York City in the past few weeks.
While city residents have been anxious to reopen the parks, authorities removed all children from them. Then, in a more drastic move, de Blasio ordered the gates to the parks welded shut to keep families from entering the parks.
