Video has emerged from May 31 of a mother at a Black Lives Matter protest in Palmdale, California, running to a police officer for help when her baby stopped breathing.

The woman is seen on security camera footage running toward a police officer when her 11-month-old baby lost consciousness and stopped breathing. She had been taking part in a protest in a park nearby, KNBC-TV reports.

Deputy Cameron Kinsey was the officer responding and was able to get the infant breathing again after striking him in the back several times. The child had swallowed a coin and it was stuck in his airway. He was taken to the hospital after the incident.
