Ralph Northam Orders Schools Shut For Six Months But Declares Liquor Stores And Dry Cleaners Are Essential

Gov. Ralph Northam announced on Monday that Virginia schools would remain closed through the end of the academic year and that all non-essential businesses would also remain close in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The governor also provided a list of what businesses are considered non-essential, such as movie theaters, fitness centers, barber shops and beauty salons, museums and concert venues. However, one of the stores that made his "essential" list? Liquor stores.
