Former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice’s declassified email from 2017 shows no wrongdoing by then-incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn in speaking with a Russian ambassador, Breitbart News reports. The email also stipulates that then-FBI Director James Comey's biggest concern was that Flynn was speaking with the ambassador too much.
Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified the message written by Susan Rice about the infamous January 5, 2017 Obama meeting just hours before leaving the White House on January 20, 2017 - the day of President Donald Trump's inauguration.
The email was originally obtained in 2018 by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) as part of their investigation into the FBI's conduct during the Trump campaign investigation, but it was still partially classified.
Grenell fully declassified the email on Tuesday per a request from Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI).
