The Latest Move To Tear Down Confederate Statues

On Thursday, Gov. Ralph Northam proposed three different bills to the General Assembly, including one that would give localities in Virginia authority to decide whether or not to remove Confederate monuments and remove the Robert E. Lee statue at the U.S. Capitol.

Northam says the bill is part of an effort to "build a modern, diverse, and inclusive Commonwealth."
