Democrat presidential candidate and billionaire Tom Steyer promised to raise the minimum wage to $22 per hour if he wins the presidency.
According to Fox News, Steyer made the remarks during a campaign event even on Sunday in South Carolina. His plan is even more extreme than fellow Democrats Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who have vowed ro raise minimum wage to $15 per hour.
While several states have raised their minimum wage to keep up with living costs, the federal minimum wage is still $7.25 per hour.
