Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have expanded telemedicine services during the coronavirus crisis because it excluded at-home abortions.

Wolf vetoed Senate Bill 857, which would have given more access to virtual medicine services to residents who are unable to see their doctors in person. Wolf rejected the bill because it did not allow access to drugs that induce abortions.

The governor claimed in a statement that the Pennsylvania House amendment to the bill that bans telemedicine services that are not approved by the FDA's Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) "interferes with women’s health care and the crucial decision-making between patients and their physicians."

The abortion drug Mifeprex has not been approved under REMS, according to Breitbart News.
