President Trump: We Are Not Sending Tax Dollars To Rebuild Minneapolis After Mobs Destroyed It

The Trump administration has formally rejected a request from the state of Minnesota for $16 million in federal aid to help repair and rebuild parts of Minneapolis that were destroyed by riots in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

On July 2, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) had asked President Donald Trump to declare a major disaster for the state of Minnesota due to the damage caused by riots and violent protests. 

Walz recently requested $16 million in aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), but adding that the total damage to the city was estimated at around $500 million. 

His request, however, was officially denied on Friday.
