It seems Twitter is out to censor anything that comes from President Trump, not just what it labels as "misleading information."
The social media platform "disabled" a video from the official Trump campaign Twitter account, claiming it was due to a copyright violation. The video, entitled, "Healing, not Hatred," was narrated by the president himself and called for peace and an end to the violence in America's major cities. The video also paid tribute to George Floyd, whose death sparked the massive outcry and violent protests.
President Trump acknowledged the peaceful protesters in the video and voiced his support for them: "We support the right of peaceful protestors, and we hear their pleas. The voices of law-abiding citizens must be heard, and heard very loudly. We will stand with the family of George Floyd, with the peaceful protestors, and with every law-abiding citizen who wants decency, civility, safety, and security."
He also condemned the violent rioters and called out Antifa for inciting much of the violence and dishonoring Floyd's memory.
On Thursday, Twitter disabled the video and replaced it with a caption that read, "This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner."
