In a time of such upheaval and division, we need more stories like this.
Two black women made a touching gesture to a white police officer in Tennessee when they paid for his breakfast and left him a note which read: "BLM, but so does yours! Thank you for your service. Breakfast paid."
Sumner County Patrol Deputy Jody McDowell posted about the encounter on his Facebook page Tuesday:
"I want to thank the two sweet black ladies who paid for my breakfast this morning. While waiting for a transport to be completed, I decided to have breakfast at Cracker Barrel near the Nashville airport. I received this note from them."
McDowell told Fox News that the two ladies came over to his table to thank him in person before they left. The waitress came by later to give him the note and inform him that his breakfast was paid.
He also told WKRN-TV that the ladies were on their way to catch a flight back to Baltimore, Maryland, but that he never got their names, and he hopes they see his message expressing his gratitude.
