Will Americans Get A One Year Pass On Making Mortgage Payments?

Homeowners who have been laid off or lost their jobs because of the coronavirus outbreak may be eligible to have their mortgage payments reduced or suspended for up to 12 months.

NPR reports that federal regulators are calling on lenders to be flexible with homeowners in the midst of the outbreak. This move, ordered through mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, would cover about half of all home loans in the United States.
