Two statues of the mother of Jesus were reportedly vandalized over the weekend in Boston, Massachusetts and Queens, New York.
The Boston Police Department reported on Facebook that officers responded to a call about a fire near 284 Bowdoin Street in Dorchester around 10 p.m. on Saturday.
On Friday, the Diocese of Brooklyn said the New York City Police Department (NYPD) was looking into the vandalization of a statue of the Virgin Mary at the Cathedral Prep School and Seminary in Queens.
According to the Catholic News Agency, security footage showed an individual approaching the statue around 3 a.m. on Friday morning and spray-painting the word "IDOL" the length of the statue.
The Brooklyn Diocese Press Office tweeted out the footage of the incident on Friday afternoon.
