Why Won't Ralph Northam Release The Names Of Nursing Homes With Coronavirus Outbreaks?

There have been an increasing amount of calls for Gov. Ralph Northam and the Virginia Department of Health to released the names of the nursing homes that have experienced coronavirus outbreaks.

ABC 8News reports that State Del. Mark Sickles (D-Fairfax) is putting together a bill that could bring more transparency for families with loved ones in long-term care facilities and may require a special session from the General Assembly.

This is in response to senior citizens advocate groups pushing for Virginia leadership to release the names of nursing homes with coronavirus outbreaks and deaths. AARP Vice President of State Advocacy Elaine Ryan told 8News, "We need public disclosure of which facilities have COVID-19. That needs to be made public to all on a regular basis."
