The White House Correspondents' Association removed a conservative news network reporter from the White House coronavirus briefings, citing "public safety" concerns.

The WHCA claimed in a statement that One America News Network reporter Chanel Rion had violated new "social distancing" rules put in place by the organization recently that limit the number of reporters in the room to 15. For the smaller networks, that meant they could only get a seat in the room once every few days, but Rion was in the room on Tuesday and Wednesday.

WHCA President Jon Karl told The Washington Post that he had warned White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham of Rion's reported violation on Tuesday, before the board abruptly voted to ban her from future briefings.
