Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - AAA is forecasting 1.2 million Virginians will travel for Memorial Day this year. The number is a six percent increase over 2022, and would be the fourth busiest Memorial Day travel ever. The only busier would be 2019, 2018, and 2005.
Car travel is also expected to be up six percent. This means traffic is expected to be heavy over the holiday. Police and law enforcement are asking people to please buckle up and drive safely.
Nationally, over 42 million Americans are expected to travel.
