16 Year Old Faces Charges After Firearm Found at Henrico School

(Henrico County, Va.) – A Henrico juvenile faces several petitions after a firearm was located on his person at the Academy at Virginia Randolph.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, around 11:30 a.m., a Henrico Police School Resource Officer (SRO) was onsite at Virginia Randolph, located at 2204 Mountain Road, when he was alerted by school administration about a possible weapon on school grounds.

Both the administrator and officer responded to investigate the anonymous tip submitted to school personnel. A firearm was ultimately located on a 16-year-old male student.

The juvenile, whose identity is not being provided due to his age, was transported and admitted to themHenrico County Juvenile Detention Home on violations of:

• Possession of a firearm on school property
• Possession of a concealed firearm, and
• Possession of a firearm by a juvenile
