Tens of thousands of homes, businesses still without power in Central Virginia

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Dominion Energy says more than 22,000 customers in the Richmond metro are still without power.

The company said its crews "worked tirelessly" throughout the night to restore power to homes and businesses who lost theirs as a result of the winter storm that swept through the region on Tuesday.

At the height of the outage on Wednesday, Feb. 12, over 130,000 Central Virginia homes and businesses were without power. Now, that figure is down to approximately 22,000.

As of 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, the following localities were experiencing power outages, according to Dominion Energy:

• Chesterfield County: 4,156 homes and businesses without power
• Henrico County: 4,073 homes and businesses without power
• Richmond: 4,956 homes and businesses without power
• Powhatan County: 3,901 homes and businesses without power
• Prince Edward County: 2,992 homes and businesses without power
• Cumberland County: 1,962 homes and businesses without power
• Goochland County: 732 homes and businesses without power
• Amelia County: 393 homes and businesses without power
• Hanover County: 313 homes and businesses without power
