Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia Department of Health says their data shows 99% of Virginia Covid cases, 98% of hospitalizations, and 99% of deaths are to not fully vaccinated people. The data will now be included as part of Virginia's Covid dashboards.
VDH's Carrie Holsinger, who is Director of the Division of Surveillance and Investigation, says they are putting the number on the dashboard to try and prod the vaccine-hesitant to get the shots. Holsinger says the vaccines are effective in preventing Covid.
Holsinger says breakthrough cases do occur but they represent less than one percent of the cases.
