Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - As a predicted 1.3 million Virginians prepare to travel by car for Thanksgiving, AAA is asking people to double-check their cars and be prepared in case of an incident. Based on last year's numbers, AAA is expecting roughly 6,500 stranded motorists this Thanksgiving holiday. To prevent car troubles while traveling, they are recommending people check their cars now, especially the state of their battery, tires, wipers, fluids, belts, and hoses.
Additionally, AAA recommends having an emergency kit packed before leaving home, just in case of car troubles. Such kits should include water, snacks, extra layers of clothing, extra car fluids, and jumper cables.
