Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - With marijuana at least partially legalized on July 1st, AAA Mid-Atlantic is warning about the potential for impaired driving. AAA says when other states legalized, they saw increases in crash rates and fatalities. For example, Colorado saw a 153% jump in fatalities when it legalized.

AAA Spokeswoman Martha Meade is asking drivers to drive sober, regardless of the subtsance. AAA points out there is no level of marijuana use that determines impairment, and use impacts different people differently.

AAA also says marijuana use, combined with alcohol use, can increase the impact of both substances.
