Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Attorney General Mark Herring's office has sent Sen. Amanda Chase (R-Chesterfield) a letter, requesting she turn over any evidence she has of election cheating. This follows an interview Chase gave this week where she said "I know how Democrats are cheating, and that information has been given to the Youngkin campaign."
Herring's letter says under the newly passed Voting Rights Act of Virginia, he can pursue potential violations of election law, if its believed people's rights have been impacted. His office says they would like to review any evidence that exists.
Glenn Youngkin's campaign, meanwhile, has told reporters they have not talked to Chase about election cheating, and they believe the election will be fair. Chase's response to WRVA about the Herring letter was "stay tuned" and a thumbs up emoji. Herring is involved in a close race for re-election with Republican Jason Miyares. All three statewide elections are forecast to be extremely close.
