Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Supporters of the One Casino + Resort say the Rev. Al Sharpton will be in Richmond Friday to campaign for the casino's approval. The issue will be on the ballot in the City of Richmond only on Tuesday.
Supporters say Sharpton will talk about the tourism impacts, the jobs, and the tax revenue they see the casino producing. The casino is not without opponents. Senator, and Richmond resident, Tim Kaine, says he believes economic development can be done better differently.
The casino vote has been overshadowed this election by the extremely close statewide races.
