Norfolk, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - For the second time this year, a six-year old has brought a gun to school in Hampton Roads. This time, no shots were fired. Norfolk Police say they arrested the mother, Letty Lopez, 35, and charged her with contributing to the delinquency and allowing access.
Police says the child brought the gun to Little Creek Elementary on Thursday. School staff retrieved the gun and turned it over to officers.
In January, a six year old in Newport News shot and wounded a teacher at Richneck Elementary. No charges have been brought in that case.
