RIchmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Richmond mayor Levar Stoney says that Richmond City Council will get the final draft proposal on how the city would like to spend $155 million dollars in federal funds under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) on Monday.

In September, Stoney had created a draft plan on how that money should be spent--including money to help Richmond children and families, childcare and improving parks and community centers. A time of public feedback happened and a consensus was reached. Stoney says that the final draft that city council will see has only nominal differences from the original draft.

Senator Tim Kaine, who is a former Richmond mayor, appeared with Stoney in front of City Hall on Friday. He says he's excited about what benefits Richmond may see with infrastructure bill being debated in Washington. Kaine says he's hopeful that the bill will be signed in November.
