Virginia Beach, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A judge in Virginia Beach has dismissed a lawsuit against two books brought by Delegate Tim Anderson (R-Virginia Beach). The Virginia Mercury reports the judge dismissed the case over concerns about the law.

Anderson was looking to have the books "Gender Queer" and "A Court of Mist and Fury" removed from bookshelves. Virginia law allows citizens to sue books, and then a judge would determine if they are obscene. The judge in this case says that leads to confusion.

Anderson is quoted in the Mercury as saying he will appeal. He is also proposing a rating system for books be taken up in the 2023 General Assembly.
