Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield County Animal Services says it’s looking for county residents who will be home and available over the Thanksgiving holiday to foster a dog or cat.
Fostering would span from Nov. 25 through Dec. 2. The shelter says it will provide all the supplies needed to care for the pet.
“If you have space in your home (and hearts) this coming Thanksgiving break, please consider providing one of these guys a home for the holidays,” the shelter said in a social media post. “They'll never tell you, but the Chesterfield Animal Services staff work around the clock to save every animal that comes through their door. Because of that, it's not always easy to separate home and work life. Therefore, we want to call attention to this foster program, in the hopes that we can not only alleviate some of the workload from staff during break, but also to put animals in loving homes.”
Those interested in fostering are asked to call 804-748-1683, select option 2, then set up a time to meet some of the animals at the shelter.
