
Chesterfield County, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - School and community leaders today cut a blue ribbon to officially open Moseley Elementary School, the 40th elementary school of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Located in western Chesterfield County in the Matoaca District, the school encompasses 104,621 square feet with space for 900 students.
“This is another great day in the Matoaca District and for all of Chesterfield County,” said Ryan Harter, Chesterfield County School Board member who represents the Matoaca District.
“Working together, we have accomplished something great for our children,” said Dr. Merv Daugherty, superintendent of Chesterfield County Public Schools. “Our entire community can take pride in knowing that Chesterfield County provides excellent schools designed to help our young people learn and our outstanding educators teach without distractions or difficulties.”
Chesterfield County Public Schools broke ground for Moseley Elementary in November 2020, and Principal Karen Dubiel and her team will welcome the first students Aug. 22, 2022. Budgeted for $32.6 million as part of the capital improvement program of Chesterfield County Public Schools, Moseley Elementary was completed on time and under budget.
